I spent two days last week in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. My sister Carol and her daughter Melanie helped me in the research.
We did some searching in the Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, England parish records. I had a marriage record for "Anne Harvey" and "David Harvey" (yes, her maiden name was the same as her married name) and I knew who her parents were, but there wasn't an "Anne" in the christening records. But there were two Elizabeths! After searching the records and discussing the dilemma with my neice Kristen Jensen (who is finishing up her Bachelor's Degree in Family History from BYU), we decided that "Anne" was actually "Elizabeth Anne", the oldest daughter of David and Anne (LeChevalier) Harvey. Their second daughter was christened, "Elizabeth".
As a side note, the "David Harvey" who married "Anne LeChevalier" was the 4th David Harvey in a line of SIX generations of "David Harvey"s!!
No wonder I'm confused!!!
We also starting researching in London for Peter LeChevalier's birth. We have his marriage record and we are guessing that he was born about 1740 in London. We copied a lot of pages from French Huguenot records and I'm in the process of trying to piece together families from this information.
